We do offer a very bespoke motorway driving course, which is designed for newly qualified drivers.

The key difference with this course for younger drivers is that the focus is more on introducing a driver to these roads, and helping them get used to the differences compared to driving on slower roads.

We will look at:

  1. How to safely enter and exit motorways
  2. Learning how to deal with higher speeds – speeds, which a driver may not have driven at before
  3. Understanding the need for looking much further ahead than usual
  4. Become aware of inpatient drivers and how to avoid them
  5. HGV blind spots – and avoiding them
  6. Learning to cope with monotonous driving – especially true on long journeys
  7. Coping with an emergency on a motorway
  8. Learn to safely overtake slower vehicles
  9. What is getting boxed in, and how to avoid getting boxed in
  10. Safe following distances

There are many more things we cover, the points above just tend to be more relevant with newly qualified drivers. With older and/or more experienced drivers, there tends to be a lot of work on ironing out ingrained bad habits. This is not as much of an issue with a newly qualified driver.
